We finally had a chance to play against a different group of girls instead of the high school girls. They played against a girls orphanage that had the same age girls as our girls. Here are some pictures…
beginning of the game Quisqueya girls are in yellow Vienna M. going for the ball Chloe scoops up a shot... Halftime pep talk And we start penalty shotsafter the winning shot post game handshakes...
The game was special for several reasons…. One being it was a huge blessing to play with the kids from a local orphanage. Another is that the girls hardly get to play an actual opponent. Most schools here do not have any organized girls sporting programs. This game also turned out to be very exciting.

With 3 minutes left in the game the orphanage girls scored to tie the game 1 to 1. We then went to penalty shots. Each team had 5 shots. After the shots were over the score stood at 2 to 2. Then it went to single penalty shots. With the last girl shooting on both teams we scored and they did not. So we won 3 to 2! What an exciting game.
You could sense in the air the anxiety and tension!! I know the players and the crowd really enjoyed the game!!!
