Just a quick post to let you all know that we are safe and awaiting hurricane Gustav. I’m going to assume we are going to lose our internet connection so we are posting now. School has been canceled for today. As soon as we are able we’ll post to let you know how we are. Prayers are appreciated…
In His Service,
Sean and Denise
Last week Banning lost one of his baby molars & then on Friday Reagan pulled out one of her loose teeth with the help of her teachers advice
Then yesterday Bethaina wakes up from her nap with a really loose tooth & isn’t quite sure if that is okay…At first I wonder if she hit her mouth on something or fell out of bed but then realize that she will be 5 years old this week…so it is normal for her & her time for loose teeth.
It was funny because her sister Kathina napped with Bethaina & Kathina told me that Bethainas tooth broke while she was sleeping!
Anyway, it was Bethaina’s first loose tooth. We were going to let it hang longer but she kept playing with it until it was hanging by a thread & then she didn’t like eating dinner with it so loose. She finally asked Sean to pull it out. He used the “no hurt” dental floss method; famous method in our family… It popped right out & she made a gross face when she first saw the tooth! But she was thrilled!
That night when Bethaina was saying her prayers she thanked Jesus for giving her “a Daddy to help her pull her tooth out”. That kid is so appreciative all on her own..she reminds us of Chloe when Chloe was little.
The second week of school for QCS is starting today. Sean is very busy with his work & the computer lab & I am helping the elementary grades part time by being an aid for Pre K, Kindergarten, 2nd grade & 5th grade so far & also teaching PE to the 1st, 2nd & 3rd graders…
We praise God for a strong start this year at QCS!
On another note, our skies are darkening as clouds cover them yet the air is still calm…we are watching & preparing for Tropical Storm Gustav as it grows & gets closer to Haiti. We’ll likely loose internet service but we will update as soon as we can.

Bethaina being brave as Sean gets the floss around her loose tooth!

Right after Sean pulled her tooth out

No pain & there it was!!

Bethaina sporting her first missing tooth!!

Banning, Bethaina & Reagan showing off there empty spaces together...

First lost tooth in bag & ready for bed!
Yesterday was the first day of school! Denise and I have been so busy, along with all the other QCS faculty and staff preparing for this year. We have 30+ new students this year bringing the total student enrollment to 260+. Praise the Lord!! It has been raining a lot every night (hurricane season) so the campus is very green and looking beautiful. So far everything is going great just really busy. We feel so blessed to have our kids at this school. We also feel very blessed to be a part of this ministry.
[/caption]We all took Reagan out to a little town called Croix des Bouquet (pronounced quad a bouquet). We went to see a friend who works in a medical clinic out there. She put in Reagan’s retainer that we have been waiting for
She is a missionary to the dental part of the clinic…& her husband is involved with QCS. They are humble, dedicated people; we have enjoyed getting to know them this past year.
It was fun to see another part of Haiti & awesome to see part of what CSI does here in Haiti… such a wonderful & growing ministry!
Blessed be the Lord,
Who daily loads us with benefits,
The God of our salvation! Psalm 68:19
Enjoy the pics of our trip…
I missed posting about my Dads Birthday last week. I went down to Jacmel with a friend to transport a baby that was abandoned for almost a year in a hospital north of PAP. He wasn’t getting needed services or enough food as there was no one to pay for that-the current staff didn’t even know his name! He has severe physical special needs but is now in an orphanage that will take care of him.
I’m still gonna post pics of my wonderful Dad! He loves my family so much…& of course we love him more than words can say.
I’m glad you had a wonderful Birthday Dad! We wish we could have celebrated it with you. You are in our hearts & in our prayers always.
Lots of hugs to you from all of us here in Haiti ~ We love you ~ Denise & family
Well we hope this will help Haiti…
